When money comes between friends and family

Never an easy subject.

It is always better to be the one with the money I guess.

Reverend Run of RunDMC made a great quote during an episode of his awful reality show.

It was the following...

" A man who buys a corvette is in a mid life crisis.

A man who buys a Lamborghini has no crisis at all"

Now, there is a lot to that quote.

That is saying that someone who has an enormous amount of money, no matter what there problems my be, is fine.

I have a problem with that rationale. That type of thinking is what is killing this country.

I do believe that once a certain amount of money is made and preserved, that the rest just does not matter. You will end up doing something stupid and unnecessary and possibly risk losing it all.

People are never content. There is always a better job, better mate, better place to vacation.

As Crosby Stills and Nash said, "love the one you're with".

Just be happy with who and what you have. Be happy with who you are. Be happy with what you are doing right now. That is the key. There is no purpose on this earth other then to enjoy the beauty of life right now.

Buddhists say, if your job is to dig a ditch, take pride in that ditch. Make it the best fucking hole anyone has ever dug.

If people would take pride in everything they do, we would have a much better place to live.

Instead we live among a bunch of hedonistic, narcissistic, ignorant people.

Wow, I sound angry, but I am really not at all. I am sad that people do not have the capacity on an ongoing basis, to be happy.

That is all for now.

The Secret

I have been reading the book the secret.

In a very short time it has changed me life.

Changing thought patterns can have an amazing effect on ones life. Also, with the use of visualization, I believe anything can be accomplished.

With focused thought, people really can control the outcomes of almost all situations.

Most of my thoughts are around maintaining good health and money.

I have this intrinsic need to be completely independent financially. Meaning, I can make money off of my money. My father calls it unearned income.

A lot of unearned income to me is just awesome.

I have been thinking that I really have used the tools the "Secret" talks about without knowing it all of my life.

My house for example. The house I now own , I never saw before last November, yet it pretty much is the exact house I have always dreamed of.

Even down to little details like mowing my own lawn.

I smelled the cut grass while walking in the concrete jungle of NYC.

I mowed that grass for the first time this past weekend. It was exactly how I had seen it years before.

Visualization, is really putting yourself in a situation that you are not currently in.

The amazing thing about visualization, is your brain can not tell the difference of a thought or an actual experience.

Your brain activity is the same when you sink a game winning shot, or you see one on T.V.

That is just amazing to me. So I have been putting this to good use.

All of the great thinkers throughout human history have known about this.

Einstein wrote exstensivley on this subject.

He even discovered that a thought, is matter, a thing you can measure or touch.

Anyway, enough quantum machanics for one day. :)

Closing my position out of PG

I sold all of my shares of Proctor and Gamble.

They came out with less then steller earnings as well as poor guidance for future earnings.

I have held this stock for quite some time and have barely made any money.

I believe in buying quality stocks and holding them for long periods of time. I manage my own money. Who will have my best interest in mind with my money better then me?

I read many financial articles everyday and research each stock that I own.

I do not own any mutual funds for the same reason as I like to be the decision maker on what I buy or sell, when I buy or sell and for how much.

I am going to be sitting on the sidelines for a while as the market has had a crazy run upward.

This is a dangerous strategy if we keep going up like this, but it cant last forever can it?

Have a pleasant day.

About Joey know it all

I have been a deep thinker my whole life.

I like to know why things are the way they are.

I speak the same way I think and probably pretty similair to the way I write.

So, when I have conversations, I break things down in a way that strikes a humorous chord with my peers. Hence, I have been called in very loving way (most of the time) "Joey Know it All".
The truth is, I of course do NOT know everything. Not even close.

The true purpose for this blog is unknown as of now. I am more concerned with just the act of creating something then the actual purpose.

I do feel however, this will be a place that people will visit often for some reason that will be discovered later on. I am really looking forward to figuring out what that reason is.
